His continued business interests included serving as president of the Tonopah City Mining Company and the Nye County Bank. Oddie was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1932, and for election in 1938. After leaving the senate, he resumed his business interests, including serving as president of the Gold Mining Association of America and the Nevada Mine Owners' Association.
