His contract stipulated, however, that he was allowed to coach that New York University basketball team in the winter of 1915–16. He remained in charge of the Yale baseball team in 1906 and 1907, but he was replaced by Tad Jones in 1908. Yale decided not to retain Lush when the school decided to cease using professional coaches.
