No prominent cape exists along the east side of Hallett Peninsula, but the name Cotter has been retained for the cliffs in the same general area.

North of this cape, Quarterdeck Ridge defines the eastern spine of the peninsula, and the Cotter Cliffs are its east face. Heave-ho Slope lies between Mount Vernon Harcourt and Quarterdeck Ridge.
