Holt was a founding member of TISM, a pseudonymous alternative rock band formed in
Melbourne in 1982. He performed under the pseudonym "Jock Cheese" as a bassist, guitarist and backing vocalist. TISM produced "over 100 songs", and in December 1983 performed their first concert in
