the commission was called into question when Cromwell sent his letter to "Governor" Stone. In other words, the form of government had changed in England from a Commonwealth to that of the Protectorate. The battle was fought, ironically, by forces loyal to a Commonwealth that was no more, and forces loyal to a proprieter who had received his powers from a ruler who had been executed. It was one of the most absurd battles ever fought. I will flesh this out later, and probably add how this battle and the circumstances leading up to it led to the contentious relationship between MD and VA that lasts to this day. Remember, VA had claims to this territory prior to Calvert, and Calvert also received the entire Potomac River. Territorial issues with Virginia have lasted well into present times, and the two states just had a case resolved by the Supreme Court over MD's ownership of the Potomac to the "low tide" mark and their efforts to block VA from placing a fresh water intake in the middle of the river. I would, correspondingly, place the value of this article as medium, or even high as a result. It foreshadowed the American Revolution in a very sigificant way, and paved the way for the two states to detest each other ever since. Indeed, the two governments still refuse to talk to each other as a matter of course, explaining why Chesapeake Bay restoration efforts vary between the two states. They can't coordinate anything.

voted against the environment and Democrats had notes that they voted in favor of helping families, or such and such. To balance this, I started adding voting records such as voted in favor of increasing sales tax by 20%, which is true. But my edits kept getting deleted. So I thought about it a while and came to the conclusion that Knowledge should not be a bullet-list pulpit for the candidates to express their views on issues, so I started deleting some. I have no problem if the issue is discussed in a paragraph, as long as it is cited. But just a quick, lopsided bullet-list just does not seem fair to either side. So that was my rationale.
979:(as I mentioned in passing above) and went a bit crazy with it. I feel as if this article could have a good chance of becoming featured, but I would like some feedback from people interested in the subject. There is enough content, but I am wondering if there is any place that you feel could use expanding or condensing, or if there is any POV I may have been adding subliminally, etc. I am also concerned about the fact that my primary reference is the Post, but it is still somewhat soon after his departure from the Senate for there to be much else I imagine. I posted on the Wikiproject Maryland talk page as well. Thanks! -- 174: 31: 808: 1332: 1088: 1027: 751: 690: 608: 491: 1615: 392: 1273:
