The Saragura Development Company explored holdings in the Saragura area of the Mwana District in Tanganyika in the 1930s. In 1958 Tanganyika Holdings Ltd. was providing office space and secretarial services to other companies in the group, had a large portfolio of investments including a sizable stake in Kentan, and was conducting an exploration program with companies that were not part of the group.
