443:. It's a good srticle, and well documented, but I can't help but consider that it is misnamed. The scope is wider than the name suggests. To say that there was only one Texas oil boom is inaccurate. I know that it depends on how finely you want to slice it in time and space, but there were a number of separate booms. At a minimum, I would say that there was a Gulf Coast boom following Spindletop, a separate north and central Texas boom in the teens and early 1920s, and another boom in the 1930s following the discovery of East Texas. This leaves out the booms in west Texas. I believe that your article might be better named "History of the petroleum industry in Texas" or something similar. Please consider this. Thanks. 187:
on and off Knowledge over trivial stuff like my adding photos taken in Israel to food articles. The admins I contacted about the threats ignored my concerns, so I felt it was time to work in other areas not "inhabited" by a clan of "battlefield warriors" who are intent on silencing people with differing opinions. I hope you can do the same -- find somewhere you can contribute that is free of unsavory situations. Knowledge may be broken, and its volunteer admin structure seriously flawed, but there are still places here where we can have a positive impact and improve content. Regards --

low-probability-high-consequence risk awareness; but the best I could do on the subject would be to embark on an adventure in original research - doing so would only end in a conflict I couldn't defend. I imagine that this single concept exists subliminally at every point in the arc of the nuclear revolution - but here again, my imagination is not exactly grounds for an Article. Best...

I wasn't aware that it was an older standard, nor that it had since changed. That's interesting to know, and definitely explains much.

I wanted to drop a note re: N.O. For what it's worth, this alternating image position thing was not unique to Knowledge. This has long been a standard practice in hard printed media (books magazines, etc.). But in dynamically formatted media on the web it does add some complications. I guess that is why the policy was

Interesting. It appears the policy on image placement has changed from what it used to be years ago. The policy was that you should try to alternate image placement from one side to the other so that the article does not look lopsided. A lot of FA articles still follow this (e.g.
